About the Author
David Wilson was evacuated during the war years. At sixteen he joined the merchant navy, and a year later he left his home in England to migrate to New Zealand on his own, (much to his mother’s grief). He was recruited into the NZ Army at eighteen, married at twenty one and helped raise three children. David returned to the UK in 1993 and in 1996 he started his boat tour business. Eleven years later, being diagnosed with prostate cancer, he sold the business and retired. Two years later, at the age of 73, he set out on his epic 5 month walk around England for two cancer charities. He then settled down to write 'The Big Walk', a book about that incredible event. Since then he has written two fiction novels, ‘The Mud Pack’ followed by ‘If Only…!’ His latest book, The Rise of Merlin, is about to be released. Over the last twenty years or more, David has spent most UK winters in Australia visiting his daughter, sometimes staying a few weeks in Malaysia and NZ, visiting friends, on his way over. These days, during the English summer, he enjoys visiting friends and family in Brighton, on England's south coast. David’s current home is in Southern France.
